The first of this year’s Open Days will take place on Sunday May 19th from 10am to 4pm and will have a special focus on Forestry Promotion. A variety of special guests, speakers, and demonstration stalls will highlight and celebrate the multifunctional role and benefits of trees, including their role in tackling climate change & biodiversity loss, and our everyday health and wellbeing! We have a super exciting line-up of talks, walks, demos and masterclasses with a number of wonderful and knowledgeable experts for you.

11 – 11.30 : A talk about avoiding food waste with Mark Molloy from Galway Co.co Environment Office
11 – 11.30 : Establishing a food forest with Jason McCormack from Food tree
11.30 -12 : The Miwaki Method talk from Finola OSiochru of the Kinvara Tree Gang
12 -12.30 : The Multiple Benefits of Trees with Joe Gowran from Woodlands of Ireland
12.30 – 1 : Restoring our Native Woodlands with David Smyth from Native Woodland Trust
1 – 1.30 : A Talk about Bioregionalism with Al Crighton from Bioregional Weavers
2 – 3.30 : A Woodland Walk with Celt and Woodland Leaque : “The Great Forest of Aughty”
