SUMMARY:High Summer Foraging Walk and Talk at The Slieve Aughty Centre
DESCRIPTION:Come enjoy a leisurely morning adventure meeting the local hedgerow plants with me\, Olwyn Williams. Learn how to safely identify and harvest these common plants\, and explore the food and medicinal uses of these early Summer offerings. You might even change your perspective on ‘weeds’! Suitable for beginner foragers and non-beginners\, gardeners\, foodies\, and nature lovers alike. \nTea/coffee and a scone included in the price\, plus tasters of some foraged goodies at the end of the walk. Suitable for adults and children 8yrs+\, €35/€20 respectively\, €15 deposit per participant to book your place\, the remainder is payable on the day. Please let me know if you suffer from any food allergies or sensitivities. \nBe advised that you will receive an email a few days before the date of the walk with details of meeting points etc\, please make sure you have access to the email address you provide to make this booking. DESCRIPTION:Lúnasa\n\nJoin forager\, yoga teacher and wild food tutor Olwyn Williams\, along with Deep ecologist and eco-therapist Jenny O’Hare for a special weekend honouring the seasons and cycles that hold us.\nA restorative weekend of deep nature connection. \nAre you looking for more ways to connect\, to yourself\, to the living world and to the nature of life? Are you keen to explore your relationship with the seasons\, creating a wilder\, more aligned and intuitive self? \nJoin us on this special weekend\, as we deeply nourish ourselves through our bodies\, our landscape\, and our sense of community. \nIn these times of constant activity\, in a world of output and endless high summer\, what does it look like to truly align to the seasons and their energies? \nThis weekend offers practices to reconnect our inner and our outer worlds\, and to re-establish that fundamental relationship with the living world that is so necessary in these times. \nLughnasadh – the beginning of the harvest time. \nA time of plenty. A time for celebration and giving thanks for the fruits of summer\, for the sustenance of the land\, and the gifts of life. \nHow does this harvest time connect us to land\, place and to the living cycles of life? \nJoin us as we practice sustainable harvesting\, allowing the life within and the life without to guide us in our actions. \nAt this golden time\, we will explore our role in the human and more than human ecosystems. Come along to play with the Summer archetypes\, revel in the long days and sing by the campfire to honour the sun. \nOver two days together we will: \n~learn and practice foraging techniques\, get to know some wild plants and create our own wild food preparations to take home. \n~learn to connect to the landscape through our bodies and our senses\, cultivating our ecological selves\, and deepening our relationship with place. \n~honour and tend to our inner selves\, exploring the truth of our relationship to life \n~learn about the traditional Wheel of the Year and symbolic\, archetypal and real life applications that can assist us all year round \n~practice our own harvesting – in our lives\, in our world\, and create our own ‘right relationship’ to abundance and gratitude. \n ~rest\, restore and re-enliven our senses\, mind and body\, through mindful movement and meditation practices and spending time outdoors\, coming back to our own True Nature. \nThis is a weekend for anyone who is curious about humanity’s healthy role in our world’s ecosystems\, and the magic that can happen when we return to a deeper relationship with the living world. \nWe will explore wild gratitude and celebration as radical acts for difficult times\, always grounding in the Here and Now.
