Donkey or Pony Walking Holidays

Lace up your boots and hit the trail! With over 2,000 acres of forest and quiet country roads surrounding the Centre, each day can be a new walking adventure. Residential walking holidays allow you to be flexible and avoid the hassle of moving your things from one place to another. All guests are accommodated at The Three Towers Eco House and meals provided by the Organic Kitchen. The residential walking holiday begins on Saturday with arrival and departure of guests. After a late breakfast on Sunday, join our staff for an introduction to your donkey and support with your map. Take your first walk around the self-guided nature trail and practice Leave No Trace. Stop for photos along the river, walk the remains of an ancient stone road shaded by majestic trees, appreciate the view from hilltops, or stop to pick some wild blueberries.

Throughout the week your quiet pony or donkey can carry your gear and food. We have detailed OS maps available to get you to the remotest parts of the forest and back Walking with a donkey Slieve Aughty Centresafely, or play it safe and stick to the quiet country roads and hard packed forest tracks. Take an organic picnic lunch with you so you can explore all day, or just go for an hour or 2 around mealtimes. In the evenings, enjoy The Three Towers home cooked organic fare and enjoy an organic beer or wine in the lounge.

15 hours of English tuition are available on site from Shannonside Language Centre at additional cost.
