Come and spend the morning with forager and wild food specialist Olwyn Williams and master some simple\, healthy recipes that you can easily replicate with a variety of wild plants\, harnessing the superior nutritional value of wild plants to support your wellbeing. \nWe will make seeded sourdough crackers\, nettle and seaweed pesto and a rose hip infused vinegar or honey and learn about the nutritional value of the wild ingredients. The workshop will also cover the basics of foraging safety\, respectful harvesting practices\, and an introduction to preservation techniques. \nThe workshop will close with the sharing of a delicious lunch where you will feast on your own creations and sample other wild food products made by Olwyn. You will leave inspired and empowered to support your health with seasonal wild food nutrition. DESCRIPTION:Spring Festival 2024 Dates:  Saturday 23rd March to Sunday April 7th\nThroughout the Easter holidays Slieve Aughty Centre invites you and your family to visit and celebrate Spring! \nOur usual fun activities\, including the Enchanted Forest\, pony rides\, playground\, nature hut\, arts and crafts room\, and organic restaurant are even more exciting during the spring festival. The organic garden is freshly planted with loads of delicious fruits and vegetables and herbs and is a lovely stroll\, and have some fun trying on some silly hats and wigs in the arts and crafts room.  Come and pet the ponies and donkeys\, visit the pot-bellied pig\, and meet our sheep. \nAll that fresh spring air works up an appetite\, so leave some time for a relaxing meal at The Three Towers Organic Kitchen\, where everything is delicious\, fresh and homemade. \nOpen 12-6 daily during the Easter holidays.\nEntry fee is €12.50 per child.  Adults €5\nIncludes a small arena pony ride. \nWe recommend booking in advance to avoid waiting or disappointment. \nFind out more…

This is a practical workshop which includes demonstrations and hands on work with real horses! It is therefore only suitable for horse owners and people who regularly work with horses. \nBy the end of this course\, participants will have the knowledge and the confidence needed to keep their own horses hooves trimmed and healthy. Natural hoof care\, also known as barefoot trimming\, is keeping and working horses without shoes. DESCRIPTION:Spring Pony CampMonday through Wednesday\, 10am-2pm\, April 3rd to 5th\nIt’s a full week of Spring Fun and Ponies!\nFor novice to advanced riders age 8-14 \nWhat does Spring mean to horses?  It is time to shed out the winter coat and shake off the winter dulls.  Spring for horses means\, growth\, birth\, change\, and usually time to get fit and work.  We will learn all about why and how these things happen as well as spend lots of time riding and caring for our horses and ponies. \nDetails\nPony camp must be booked in advance.   Advanced payment required to secure your place. Camp is from 10 am to 2 pm daily Monday to Friday.  Camp is suitable for  8 – 14-year old novice to advanced riders. \nWhat to bring\nWe recommend children bring a change of clothes\, snacks\, and drinks (no single use plastics please). Water bottles can be refilled in the restaurant. Rain coat and boots are essential! \nWhat to wear\nChildren should wear boots with small heels and long flexible and comfortable trousers. We recommend layering clothing and bring a rain jacket every day.
