Summer Pony Camp
All Things Pony for Beginner and Novice riders
Your child can live their dream for a few days at the Slieve Aughty Centre pony camp!
Available Tuesday to Friday August 3rd to 6th.
All Things Pony:
For young beginner and novice riders, learn the basics of pony care, have lots of fun, and meet other pony crazy kids!!! We will answer some important questions, such as why do ponies eat grass? What colour is my pony?
Where do ponies come from? What is the difference between a pony and a horse? Why does my pony make that funny noise? When is a pony all grown up? and lots more. Ever wondered about pony “actors”? We will find out their real names and where they are from. And of course we will do plenty of riding, including lessons, treks, bareback, vaulting and pony games.
Pony camp must be booked in advance. A deposit is required to secure your place.
All Things Pony Camp is from 10 am to 1.30 pm Mon-Fri and is suitable for 5 – 10 year old beginner and novice riders (walk/trot). €150 per week.
What to bring
We recommend children bring a change of clothes, healthy lunch and snacks, and drinks (no single use plastics please). Water bottles can be refilled in the restaurant. Rain coat and boots are essential! If you have your own helmet and body protector please bring it with you. Your gear can be stored at the centre for the week.
What to wear
Children should wear boots with small heels and long flexible and comfortable trousers. We recommend layering clothing and bring a rain jacket every day. We provide approved riding helmets for those that do not have their own.
